About the Event

Jacqueline Francis is the founder and host of Stop Sweeping It Under The Carpet. An Advocate for Domestic Peace, Award-Winning Author & an Educator. Jacqueline’s primary mission is advocating to raise awareness of domestic abuse which has risen globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She is continually striving to promote Global Domestic Peace on her programme called Stop Sweeping It Under The Carpet, a programme to empower those who have been affected by domestic abuse and also to raise awareness of how to bridge the gap of domestic abuse from home to work.

Having spent time working in refuges in London providing emotional support to women who had fled domestic abuse, she realised that their voices were not being heard including the stigma and judgement attached to domestic abuse. Jacqueline took it upon herself to become a speaker and educator to highlight the issues women and girls were facing in their relationships including abuse from family members as well.

In March 2021, Jacqueline was awarded with the - ‘Highly Commended’ in the Inspirational Role Model Category for her role inspiring, educating and empowering women and girls by SHE Awards. Jacqueline was awarded ‘Best Author of the Year 2019’ for her debut novella - Walk Quiet Run Quick. A fictional story written to create awareness and educate young women and girls on how easy it is to fall into a relationship that ultimately ends up becoming abusive. Her second book, The Relationship Jigsaw. 8 Key Pieces For A Healthy Happy Relationship was published during the pandemic. It’s an introductory educational self-help book that goes beneath the superficial level of personal and family relationships. Thought provoking tool to achieve personal success. Both books were written to create awareness, educate and again empower young women and girls to learn how to mitigate the rise of domestic abuse and have healthy happy relationships.

TOPIC TITLE OF PRESENTATION: Bridging The Gap Of Domestic Abuse From Home To Work The presentation will initially highlight what domestic abuse is and the many forms it presents itself when in an intimate relationship or family relationship. Illustrations of the wider impact that domestic abuse has in the workplace and how employers can implement best practices to support their staff.
